Report on Alternate Hierarchies

If your administrator selects alternate hierarchies for dimensions in the financial reporting data model, you can select from and use any of these hierarchies in the report. Using alternate hierarchies for elements like companies, ledger accounts, and cost center dimension enables flexibility in reporting. This feature also enables you to view and compare independent top-level hierarchies.

Examples:

You've different teams that report on cost centers based on different cost center hierarchies.
You've a new company hierarchy from an acquisition that exists outside your current primary consolidation hierarchy.

Some elements can overlap across alternate hierarchies. When aggregating 2 top-level hierarchies, OfficeConnect calculates only unique values for elements to avoid duplication.
