Troubleshooting: Data Didn't Copy into Cloned Version

Troubleshooting: Data Didn't Copy into Cloned Version

You clone a version and select the
Copy all Data
check box the data in the new version differs from the data in the original version.
Cause
Solution
You copied the default version by accident.
We start all new plan versions as copies of the default version, not the version you highlight in the version list when you click the new version button.
In the
New Version Options
section, select the version you want to copy from the
Start as copy of version
prompt.
The original version has actuals overlay.
We copy the plan data into the new version, not the actuals overlay.
You can export the actuals data and import it as plan data into your new version.
You extended the new version past the
End of Plan
period of the original. The result is that the new version has time periods that the old version didn't cover. We populate these periods based on the options in the
Extension Options
. The default is to copy the final year of the original version into the new periods, repeating as necessary.
For an exact copy, the start and end of the version should remain the same. When you do extend the periods for the new version, scroll down to the
Extension Options
and select the best option. Know that the new version is different now because it includes more time periods.
