Add Currencies

permission.You can create standard currencies, or custom currencies, which lets you define the currency however you like. Create currencies when your business uses more than 1 currency. Create custom currencies to:
- Differentiate the same currencies in different versions. Example: You have several different contractually defined currency rates for Euros. You can create a custom currency for each.
- Analyze best and worst case scenarios impacted by exchange rates. Example: Use a custom CAD that has a favorable rate as a best case scenario, and a custom CAD that has an unfavorable rate as a worst case scenario.
After you add currencies, you can:
- Assign them to levels. The currencies display in theCurrencydrop-down menu in theLevelsarea ofModeling. Sheets always display the currency of the level. Data entered in sheets is always at the currency of the level.
- Apply them to reports and dashboards to convert any data point to a specific currency.
- SelectModelingfrom the main menu.
- ClickCurrencies.
- From theCurrenciessection, select:
- Add Standard Currencyto select from a list of standard currencies provided by Adaptive Planning.
- Add Custom Currencyto define your own currency code.
- As you complete the task consider
Option Description Currency NameFor standard currencies, select from a list of available currencies, which automatically includes the code. You can search by code or country.For custom currencies, enter the name of the currency.Currency CodeFor standard currencies, you automatically add the code when you select the currency.For custom currencies, enter 4-8 characters. You can enter any unique combination of letters, numbers, and underscores.Decimal PlacesSelect how many decimal places for values entered at levels with the currency. In account settings, you have the option to selectCurrency's Precisionfor theDecimal Placesfield.Create default reporting rates- Leave blank for most currencies. In reports and dashboards, we convert the level currency to the corporate currency. Then, we convert it to the reporting currency.
- Select the check box to have Adaptive Planning make a direct conversion between the level currency and the reporting currency. With this option, you must ad the exchange rates between this currency and each additional currency.
