Back Up and Restore On-Prem Data Connectors

After setting up On-Prem Data Connectors, configure the On-Prem Data Connector Manager to back them up.

Prerequisites

Permissions Required: Integration > Data Designer

Verify you have administrative rights on the computer

Obtain the username and password for an

Adaptive Planning

user on your instance.

Launch the On-Prem Data Connector Manager.

Enter the

Adaptive Planning

username and password.

Back Up On-Prem Data Connectors

You can back up all On-Prem Data Connectors at once or individual On-Prem Data Connectors one at a time.

Back Up All On-Prem Data Connectors at Once: Select the Backup/Unprovision
tab in the On-Prem Data Connector Manager.
Select Backup Destination Folder
for a directory selection dialog, or type a path in the field. Select Clear
to remove the directory path and start over.
Select Full Backup Now
. The On-Prem Data Connector Manager backs up all On-Prem Data Connectors and associated information to the backup folder.
Back Up Individual On-Prem Data Connectors: Select the Backup/Unprovision
tab in the On-Prem Data Connector Manager.
Select an On-Prem Data Connector from the Select Active On-Prem Data Connector
drop-down.
Select Backup Now
. The On-Prem Data Connector Manager backs up the specified On-Prem Data Connector and associated information to the backup folder.

Restore On-Prem Data Connectors

You can restore all On-Prem Data Connectors at once or restore individual On-Prem Data Connectors.

Restore All On-Prem Data Connectors at Once: Select the Backup/Unprovision
tab in the On-Prem Data Connector Manager.
Select Full Restore Source Folder
for a directory selection dialog. Select the directory you want to restore from.
Enter the backup password used when the backup was made. You can also select Get Backup Password
to retrieve an encrypted version of the password corresponding to the backup password from the
Adaptive Planning
Integration server.
The backup password functions as an encryption key for your backups. This password gets stored in the Integration server for each of your locally created backups.
Select Full Restore Now
. The On-Prem Data Connector Manager restores all On-Prem Data Connectors and associated information to the specified restore folder.

Restore Individual On-Prem Data Connectors: Select the Backup/Unprovision
tab in the On-Prem Data Connector Manager.
Select Select On-Prem Data Connector Backup to Restore From
for a directory selection dialog box. Select the backup file you want to restore from.
Enter the backup password used when the backup was made.
Select Restore Now
. The On-Prem Data Connector Manager restores the specified On-Prem Data Connector and associated information.

Data Residency Requirements and Domain Access

The On-Prem Data Connector must be able to communicate with all

Adaptive Planning

servers at the domain name *.adaptiveplanning.com on port 443 (the encrypted SSL port). If your organization's internal network includes a firewall and / or http proxy then your firewall / http proxy configuration must allow the On-Prem Data Connector service's user account access to

Adaptive Planning

servers.

Allowing all *.adaptiveplanning.com domains on port 443 is a requirement to ensure that data originating in Europe, Australia and Canada is contained completely on servers within those geographies. Traffic balancing and data sovereignty modifications cannot be performed without allowing all *.adaptiveplanning.com connections on port 443.

One machine running the On-Prem Data Connector service cannot serve tenants in multiple geographies.
