Concept: Advanced Workflow Notifications

Workflow notifications keep participants informed about their assigned tasks, status changes, and any actions required within the workflow process. Notifications are designed to be consolidated where possible to reduce noise, and they trigger when a task's state changes.
We display these notifications:
  • In Adaptive Planning and email by default.
  • In Adaptive Planning and in Workday notifications if you use Adaptive Planning with HCM and Financials. You can enable these notifications as email notifications.
Each notification contains a link directly to the task.
If you only have Adaptive Planning, you can also route notifications to users’ other workspaces, like Slack. SeeCreate Adaptive Planning Hubs.
When you launch the workflow, all assignees for the first task receive a notification to access their My Tasks item.
As a submitter in a submit approve task group or on the lowest hierarchy level for a hierarchy submit task, if you’re responsible for multiple participating levels, you receive only 1 notification.
As an approver or a submitter on a higher hierarchy level, if your task involves multiple participating levels, you receive the notification even if only 1 of those levels is available for you to take action. We send you additional notifications when other participating levels on this task are made available for you to take action. You receive only 1 notification if both of these conditions apply:
  • Your task involves multiple participating levels.
  • All the participating levels are actionable because 1 user was assigned and used the
    Submit All
    or
    Approve All
    action.
