Create an Azure Synapse Connection

- Navigate to theData Catalog.

- Complete the task:OptionDescriptionNameThe connection name must be unique in the Data Catalog. Workday displays this name in the Data Catalog and when you select a connection in a data change task.Description(Optional) Workday recommends using the description to define the use of the connection and help differentiate between different connections.Authentication TypeSelect how to connect to Azure Synapse:
- Basic Auth. Workday connects to Azure Synapse using the user credentials of the specified Azure Synapse account.
- OAuth 2.0 with Client Credentials. Workday connects to Azure Synapse using the client ID, client secret, and Azure tenant that you configured in Azure Active Directory (AD) B2C for the app.
- OAuth 2.0 with JWT. Workday connects to Azure Synapse using the client ID, Azure tenant, and public-private key pair.
- (Optional) Use theTest Connectionbutton to verify that Workday can connect to Azure Synapse using the connection information you configured.
Workday displays the Azure Synapse connection on the
Connections
tab of the Data Catalog
report. You can right-click the connection to view or edit it.
