Example: Configure HRBP Dashboard Access

Example: Configure HRBP Dashboard Access

This example explains the steps on how to grant Human Resource Business Partners (HRBPs) access to their managed areas and how to control the tasks they can perform within those areas on Peakon.
This example assumes that your HRBPs don't have employees reporting directly to them.
If your HRBPs do have direct reports, they're also in the standard
Managers
access group, which grants permissions to view and interact with their assigned segments. If the existing permissions are sufficient, leave the HRBPs' access control configuration as is and only assign additional segments to their access. If a user is in 2 access groups that provide
Managed employees
access, the permissions from 1 group will also apply to the other group.
You have several HRBPs that support different business units in your organization. You'd like to give each HRBP access to only the business units that they support, with historical data. They need access to view the dashboards and interact with comments.
  1. Go to
    Administration
    >
    Attributes
    .
  2. Open the
    Business Unit
    attribute, or equivalent.
  3. Assign each HRBP user to the segments that they manage using 1 of these methods:
    • Click the plus icon next to the segment name and set a HRBP as the manager of the segment.
    • Go to the
      Import managers
tab and download the template. Reimport the file with the HRBP email addresses and the names of the segments that they need to access.
  4. Go to
    Administration
    >
    Access Control
    .
  5. Click
    Add group
    .
  6. Name the group. Example:
    HRBP
    .
  7. In the
    Access
    section, select
    Managed employees
    .
This permission ensures that the group's members can only access the segments you assigned to them.
  8. In the
    People
    section, select
    Choose manually
    .
  9. In the
    Question sets
section, review the question sets that you want your HRBPs to access in their results.
  10. In the
    Settings
    section, expand the
    Access statistics
    and
    Comment
areas, then enable any relevant permissions.
  11. Click
    Create group
    .
  12. Go to the
    Group members
tab within the newly created group.
  13. Click
    Add people
    .
  14. Add each HRBP user separately by selecting them from the drop down menu and clicking
    Add
    .
The group now enables HRBPs to sign into Peakon as managers of their assigned segments.
