Example: Backdating Employee Segment Values Using Data Import

This example contains instructions on how to backdate the segment values for a group of employees in bulk directly on Peakon.
Your company has already conducted multiple surveys with existing attributes. You recently created a new attribute named
Region
and need to upload employee segment values. It should function as though the
Region
attribute has always existed in the tool with historical data.
  1. Prepare your data file with employee data in these columns:
    First name
    ,
    Last name
    ,
    Email
    ,
    Employee ID
    ,
    Region
. If you don't have both
    Email
    and
    Employee ID
, just 1 will suffice. Don't include other attribute columns, or else they’ll backdate too.
  2. Go to
    Administration
    Employees
    Import
    .
  3. Click
    Set valid from
    .
  4. Select the date that is 1 day before the first ever survey round.
  5. Click
    Choose Excel file...
    and import the file.
  6. Download the import log, and check for any errors or warnings.
Each employee you imported is now part of a segment within the
Region
attribute, with retroactive effect. After the next round ends the segments will start having focus areas & strengths, and so on.
