Change Regular Survey Rounds to Test Rounds

Change Regular Survey Rounds to Test Rounds

Permission:

.
Changing a regular survey round to a test round provides flexibility if you need to remove a survey round's results from the dashboard.
Example: You had planned to delay a recurring survey, but forgot to update it on time so the survey launched on its due date. It has now received some survey responses, and shifted the visibility window of the dashboard forward. By marking it as a test round, you can clear that survey round from your dashboard. To see steps for this specific scenario, see Troubleshooting: Close Survey Round on Launch Day.
You can change the survey round type of both current and past survey rounds. It's also possible to change a test round to a regular round. You can change the survey type for each survey round once per hour. It's only possible to change the survey round type for surveys that closed within the last 12 months.
The table describes the consequences of each possible scenario.
Scenario
Consequence
Regular open round to test round
  • Immediate and irreversible soft-close of the round.
  • Scores and comments from the regular round move to the test data dashboard.
  • Employees can still respond, but their responses contribute to the test data dashboard.
Regular soft-closed round to test round
  • Scores and comments from the regular round move to the test data dashboard.
  • Possible to manually hard-close round.
  • Scores move away from already identified focus areas and highlighted segments on the regular dashboard. Example: A focus area that was previously below benchmark may be well above benchmark after this change, however it will display as a priority until the next recalculation after the next survey round.
Regular hard-closed round to test round
  • Scores and comments from the regular round move to the test data dashboard.
  • Scores move away from already identified focus areas and highlighted segments on the regular dashboard. Example: A focus area that was previously below benchmark may be well above benchmark after this change, however it will display as a priority until the next recalculation after the next survey round.
Regular round, now marked as test, to regular round again
  • Scores and comments from the test round move to the regular dashboard.
  • Scores move away from already identified focus areas and highlighted segments on the regular dashboard. Example: A focus area that was previously below benchmark may be well above benchmark after this change, however it will display as a priority until the next recalculation after the next survey round.
Test round to regular round

  • No recalculation of focus areas and highlighted segments.
  1. Go to

  2. Click on the
    Activity
    tab.
  3. Find the row of the survey round that you need to mark as a test and expand it by clicking the arrow.

    .
  5. Confirm the pop up that displays.
It can take a moment for the system to process and recalculate the dashboards, depending on the company size.
Once complete, the survey round no longer displays on the main dashboard. Your dashboard's visibility window has shifted back to how it was before, without displaying any data or time stamps from the survey round that you changed to a test round.
If employees answered any questions on the survey prior to changing it to a test survey, the question algorithm continues to consider those questions as answered for those employees.
You can also use these steps to mark the test round as a regular round again, if needed. To display test rounds in the
Activity
tab, enable the
Include test rounds
option. We advise against doing this back and forth unless absolutely necessary.
