Concept: Single Sign-On Survey Link

Background

The Single Sign-On (SSO) survey link is a universal URL that directs employees directly to their unique survey. This link removes the need for manual email entry by automatically validating the user's identity through your organization's Identity Provider (IdP).
When an employee accesses the SSO survey link, Peakon retrieves the authenticated SSO details (such as Email or Employee Number) from the active IdP session. Because Peakon matches these SAML attributes directly to the employee record, the respondent does not need to manually enter an email address or credentials to open their survey.
If the employee does not have an active SSO session, Peakon redirects them to your organization's IdP page to sign in before routing them to the survey. Validating SSO details prevents accidental survey completions under another employee's account.
If an employee belongs to multiple survey schedules, Peakon presents the first launched survey.

Configuration

Administrators can access the
Survey Link
tab in the
Administration
Integration
Single Sign-On
tile.
If there are employees without an email address in your organization, set up the method of access using the
Name ID
setting to
Employee Number
. If set to
Email
, employees must use their email to login.
Administrators can view and share the SSO survey link with employees as needed. Employees and managers do not require personal dashboard access to utilize this feature.

Recommendations

  • Inform employees about this survey access method before launching the survey, and encourage them to bookmark the universal link.
  • Clarify in training materials that deskless workers can reuse the same SSO survey link on shared devices.

Limitations

  • This feature requires a custom subdomain.
  • Administrators must distribute the link manually. Peakon does not share the SSO survey link automatically.
