Set Comment Visibility Thresholds
Security: only members from the
Administrators
group can set threshold settings.Comments are often the most actionable part of employee feedback. You can view comments at company level view, as well as the segments the employees are part of, if those segments meet visibility thresholds. Users that aren't administrators can only view and respond to comments from the segments they manage, provided they have access to these actions.
Communicate to employees about how you configured comment confidentiality settings, to enable employees to make an informed decision when providing comments.
The comment visibility process aims to surface as many comments as possible, while preserving the confidentiality for each individual employee.
The visibility settings don't relate to or require employees to submit comments, instead they let you control how many employees must answer the survey before comments become visible in the segment.
- A given segment only retains answers from its employees.
- If the number of employees that answered during the selected visibility window (from the last survey date) is below the visibility threshold, comments aren't visible.
- Comments only display on survey rounds where the surveyed number of employees and the number of employees who answered are above the comment visibility thresholds.
- Comments only display on survey rounds where the segment doesn't conflict with another segment.

- Set theSegmentsandResponsessettings.SettingDescriptionSegmentsControls the required number of responses to display comments in a segment. This setting is the cap for theNumber of responsessetting, and it works on a per-survey basis.ResponsesControls how many of those employees must answer a survey in a round, to display comments for that specific round. The combination of the 2 settings can alleviate confidentiality risk during periods of lower participation, such as summer holidays. This setting works on a per-survey basis, and can't be higher than the comment visibility threshold of segments.
Your visibility window is 1 year. If you set comment visibility threshold of segments to 6, comments are visible on segments where 6 or more employees answered the survey during the last 1 year.
In addition, you set comment visibility threshold of responses to 3. Segments displays comments if at least 6 employees answered in the last 1 year, and at least 3 of those employees answered the survey in that round.
