FAQ: What Can I Do If I Have a Focus Area That I Can't Influence?

If Peakon recommends a focus area that you can't act upon or you don't want to focus on it right now, you can dismiss the recommendation. Example: You're a team leader, and the Reward driver is scoring below benchmark in your team. However, your company limits compensation decisions to senior leadership, so you can't influence this area.
Managers with the
Manage focus areas
permission can set their own focus areas. See Set a Focus Area for Your Team.
We recommend referring to the
Drivers
page in the
Analysis
tab to identify whether there are any other drivers that you may want to prioritize instead. Example: You'd like to focus on the Peer Relationships driver because you've noticed your employees are not feeling connected to their team, through conversations outside of Peakon.
Your employees receive a notification when you set a driver as a focus area and they can submit confidential suggestions on what actions they'd like to see in order to improve the driver. When setting a focus area, you can add a custom message to encourage your team to submit suggestions. This can help bridge the gap when having low scoring drivers without comments.
