Register API Client for Data Lake (Refresh Token Grant)

Data Platform Clients authenticate their connection to Workday Data Lake through API clients. Depending on the connector options in the data platform, you can either establish your connection with a Refresh Token Grant flow (this topic) or a JWT Bearer Grant flow.
  1. Access the
    Register API Client for Integrations
    task.
    1. Complete the task:
      Option
      Description
      Client Name
      Enter a unique API client name.
      Non-Expiring Refresh Tokens
      Select this check box.
      Scope (Functional Areas)
      Select
      Data Cloud
      . If this option doesn’t display, seeSet Up the Data Cloud Functional Area .
    2. Click
      OK

    3. Save the Client ID and Client Secret argument values from the
      Register API Client for Integrations
      page.

    4. On the same page, from the related actions menu of the client, select
      API Client
      Manage Refresh Tokens for Integrations
      .
    5. Select the ISU name from the
      Workday Account
      field, then click
      OK
      .
    6. Save the Refresh Token value from the
      Successfully Regenerated Refresh Token
      page.
