Payroll Data Insights | Enables the Payroll Agent to access payroll knowledge to answer your questions. You can ask questions and receive answers on the data that you need in a simple conversational manner. Identify Missing Data and Configuration Skill
The Identify Missing Data and Configuration skill of the Payroll Agent helps you:
- Streamline payroll processing by finding what data and configurations require your attention.
- Take action to proactively resolve potential issues.
- Monitor and identify outdated or missing data and configurations that are critical for payroll.
- Take actions to resolve data and configuration issues such as sending notifications and making updates.
You can use this skill to find and:
- Notify workers who are missing payment elections for pay types using thePayroll Rule on the Maintain Payment Election Rulestask. This functionality is applicable for all Workday Payroll countries.
- Update FLSA calendars that are set to expire within 90 days of the current date. This functionality is only applicable for Payroll in the U.S.
Before accessing the Payroll Agent in your tenant, you must have:
- Payment elections for workers. See Steps: Set Up Payment Elections.
- FLSA work period calendars. See Create FLSA Work Period Calendars (USA).
You must have access to these security domains for the agent to be able to use the different functionalities of the skill:

Notifications for Workers Missing Payment Elections
You can initiate the Find Workers Missing Payment Elections job using the Payroll Agent with the Identify Missing Data and Configuration skill enabled. To configure how Workday notifies workers about missing payment elections, see Set Up Identify Missing Data and Configuration Notifications for Workers Missing Payment Elections.
When you use the Payroll Agent to find workers missing payment elections, Workday automatically notifies you once the process is complete. The notification includes such details as:
- The related pay group of the workers.
- The workers who are missing payment elections.
- Whether or not Workday notified the workers identified by the Payroll agent.
Expiring FLSA Calendars
You can initiate the Schedule FLSA Work Period Calendar Update job using the Payroll Agent with the Identify Missing Data and Configuration skill enabled.
When you use the Payroll Agent to update an expiring FLSA calendar, Workday automatically notifies you once the process is complete. The notification includes details such as the:
- Name of the updated FLSA work period calendar.
- Number of work periods that you requested to be added.
