Set Up Program Credential Policies

 domain in the Academic Foundation functional area.
You can set up policies to determine which credentials students earn when they complete their programs of study. You can enable students to earn credentials from only their primary or stackable program or from all their programs, including multiple credentials of the same type.
Example: Configure policies that confer:
  • A single credential to double majors.
  • Multiple credentials of the same type for join programs.
When you don't configure a policy, Workday confers credentials from all programs, but does not grant multiple credentials of the same type.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Program Credential Policy
     task.
  2. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    All programs
    Confer a credential for each different credential and grouped program of study record.
    Only primary or stackable program
    Confer a credential for the student’s primary program of study and any stackable program of study records. Workday places any additional program of study records on the conferred credential.
    Grant Multiple Credentials of Same Type
    When different programs grant the same credential, confer a separate credential for each program of study record.
A student has these program of study records:

When you select these policy configurations, Workday confers these credentials:
Configuration
Conferred Credentials
Grant credentials from all programs, but do not grant multiple credentials of the same type.
OR
No policy configured or inherited.
B.S. in Mathematics, with a minor in Economics and an additional major in Accounting
B.A. in Biology
B.A. in Art History
Grant credentials from all programs and grant multiple credentials of the same type.
B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Economics
B.A. in Biology
B.S. in Accounting
B.A. in Art History
Grant credentials from only the primary or stackable programs.
B.S. in Mathematics, with a minor in Economics and additional majors in Biology and Accounting
B.A. in Art History
