Steps: Manage Completion Honors and Awards

Steps: Manage Completion Honors and Awards

You can create honors and awards that you can grant to students on their conferred credential. Example: A magna cum laude distinction with degree completion.
You can set up policies so that Workday assigns these honors and awards to students when processing program completion.
Workday grants the honor or award when the program of study record:
  • Has only 1 conferred credential.
  • Is the student’s primary program of study, or stackable to their primary program of study.
You can also manually assign these honors and awards to a student’s conferred credential.
  1. Access the
Create Program Completion Honor or Award
    task.
As you complete this task, consider:
    Option Description
    Honor/Award
Enter the name of the honor or award exactly as you want it to display on transcripts and student records. Workday prevents you from creating Honors or Awards with duplicate names.
    Academic Unit
Workday recommends that you select the highest academic unit at your institution to enable sharing of the honor or award with subordinate academic units.
    Active
Select this check box to enable assignment of the honor or award to students.
When this check box is cleared:
    • Workday can’t assign this honor or award at program completion according to the completion honor or award policy.
    • You can’t manually assign this honor or award.
    Security:
    Set Up: Academic Records
domain in the Student Records functional area.
  2. Access the
Maintain Completion Honor or Award Policy
    task.
Assign the honor or award to an academic unit and level or program of study. Define the eligibility for granting the honor or award.
    Workday:
    • Evaluates the student’s program of study record against the eligibility rules in the policy when processing program completion.
    • Grants the honor or award for the first applicable rule based on the
      Sort Order
      in the policy.
    • Grants only 1 honor or award when the record meets multiple eligibility rules.
    Security:
    Set Up: Academic Policies
domain in the Academic Foundation functional area.
  3. (Optional) Access the
    Assign Student Honor or Award
    task.
Manually assign an honor or award to a student’s earned credential.
    Security:
    Manage: Academic Records
domain in the Student Records functional area.
Workday assigns completion honors and awards to a student’s conferred credential when:
  • Workday processes program completion.
  • The student’s program of study record meets an eligibility rule in the completion honor or award policy.
You and your students can view the honors and awards they receive on:
