Steps: Manage Class Standing for Students

Set up class standing policies. See Steps: Set Up Class Standing Policies.
Workday displays Student Records class standings for students on their student profiles:
Field

Description
Class Standing
Student Information
section on the Summary profile group of the student profile.
Latest class standing from all completed courses, including graded courses from the current academic period.
Class Standing at Start of Period
Academic History
report on the Academics profile group.
Class standing at the start of each academic period, including the completed courses up to, but not including, that academic period record.
For Financial Aid, Workday displays class standing and federal student aid grade level on the
Attendance Plan
report on the Financial Aid profile group of the student profile. See Concept: Financial Aid Class Standings.
Workday calculates class standing on academic records based on the effective class standing policy that applies for the student’s primary program of study.
You can:
  • Update academic records and attendance plans impacted by changes to class standing policies.
  • Override the Workday-calculated Student Records class standing for a student.
  1. (Optional) Access the
    Mass Refresh Academic Statistics
    report.
    Select the academic records to refresh. When you run this report, Workday refreshes:
    • Academic period records.
    • Class standing for academic records.
    • Class standing for academic period records.
    • Course credit loss reasons.
    • Course equivalency grade replacement records.
    • Student course repeat records.
    • Student load statuses.
    This task may result in changes that impact data in the Financial Aid and Student Financials functional areas, such as merit packaging or student charges. After you run the
    Mass Refresh Academic Statistics
    task, you must manually run the appropriate Financial Aid or Student Financials tasks, such as:
    • Assign Cost of Attendance
    • Edit Charge Assessment Schedule
    • Activate ISIR - Student
    Manually running the associated Financial Aid or Student Financials tasks helps to ensure that all data changes are accurately reflected across any impacted areas in Workday.

  2. Manually refresh the financial aid attendance plan to apply changes to class standing policies.
  3. (Optional) Access the
    Edit Class Standing for Student
    task.
    Manually override the Workday-calculated Student Records class standing for a student.
    From the
    Academic Period
    prompt, to override the:
    • Latest class standing, select the most recent academic period.
    • Class standing at the start of a specific academic period record, select the desired academic period.
