Steps: Record Student Payments
- Set up the financial account posting rule set and associated accounting structure. See Reference: Account Posting Rules for Student Transactions.
- Configure theStudent Payment Eventbusiness process and security policy in the Student Financials functional area.
Record a payment received from a student. Workday applies the payment to charges in the student's account according to precedence group rules.
- (Optional) Add aReview Private Scholarship for Student Paymentaction step to theStudent Payment Eventbusiness process.This step notifies your financial aid office about private scholarship payments.
- Access the appropriate task to process the payment:
- Record Student Payment.
- Record Student Private Scholarship Payment.Workday routes these payments to Financial Aid to add to the Total Financial Assistance for the student.
- Record theAcademic Period,Payment Item, and other details for the payment.
Workday posts the payment to the student's account and generates accounting entries with worktags.
You can:
- View the payment on theStudent Financialsprofile group on the student's profile. When the payment exceeds the charges, Workday reports the remaining amount under unapplied payments.
- Access theFind Student Paymentreport to review the payment and view the accounting entries. Select from the related actions menu of the transaction.
- Create a settlement run to settle direct debit payments.
