Post Student Charges Manually

domain in the Financial Aid functional area.
You can:
  • Assess student charges, independent of charge assessment schedules. These charges can include charge item assignments, registration-based fees, and course fees.
  • Post charges to 1 or more students and academic periods.
You can't assess charges for students with inactive Financial Aid Period Records (FAPR).
  1. Verify that the student doesn’t have any active charge assessment holds.
  2. Access the
    Run Student Financial Aid Processes by Period
    report.
  3. Select filter criteria.
    Include either:
    • The Institution as a filter.
    • Financial Aid Period Records from the same Institution.
  4. Select students.
  5. Click
    Assign Student Charges and Waivers
    .
  6. (Optionally) Select the
    Assign Waivers
    check box to include student waivers.
When you assess charges manually to students, Workday posts:
  • Charge item assignments.
  • Course fees.
  • Registration-based fees.
Posting charges generates operational journals according to your account posting rules for receivables, revenue, and deferred revenue.
To view student charge transaction groups, select
View Journal
from the related actions menu of the student charge transaction, and then select the operational transaction.
