Concept: Student Charge Transaction Groups

When you enable journal grouping, Workday uses Student Charge Transaction Groups to consolidate student accounting entries. These business objects bundle multiple charge-related transactions into a single record for accounting purposes. Workday groups charges that share the same student, academic period, Assign Charges via SFPR job run, and company. Workday creates a single journal entry by company for each student charge transaction group, reducing the number of journals posted.

Workday creates transaction groups for:

Assessed charges
Canceled charges
Charge adjustments
Refund recovery
Writeoffs
Charges created from canceling or enrolling in a payment plan.

Workday groups pending charges that become assessed charges separately from other assessed charges.
