Steps: Set Up Student Disability Accommodations
You can set up disability types at the tenant level. You can also set up the special services, including accommodations, to support students with disabilities in your institution.
After setting up the disabilities and services, you or the student can request special services or accommodations.
- Access theMaintain Student Disabilities for Accommodationstask.Add rows with the names and codes for the disabilities you want to support in your tenant. For example: Blindness, Deafness.Check the complete list of disabilities covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).Security:Set Up: Contact Info, IDs, and Personal Datadomain in the Contact Information functional area.
- Access theMaintain Student Accommodationstask.Search for your institution and enter accommodation types that your institution supports.Enter a name and code for the accommodations you want to support. Naming examples:Preferential Seating,Wheelchair Access,Scribe for Exams
- Configure theStudent Accommodation Eventbusiness process in the Student Core area.(Optional) Add a questionnaire to the business process to collect information about the accommodation request.
- (Optional) Access theConfigure Profile Groupstask.Configure the Personal for Student profile group to display theAccommodationsreport. To view this data, students and administrators require access to theStudent Data: Disability DataandStudent Data: Accommodation Datadomains in the Student Core functional area.Security:Set Up: Systemdomain in the System functional area.TheAccommodationsreport on the student profile displays the same data as theView Accommodations for Studentreport, which you can access from the related actions menu of the student.
