Steps: Set Up Friends and Family

Friends and Family provides a list of relatives or associates connected to a student. You can use this list to create engagement plans or communicate with specified contacts in case of an emergency.
You can configure the Friends and Family tasks:
  • As part of your registration and onboarding business processes.
  • To enable students to view and maintain their Friends and Family contact lists.
  • To require students to provide contact information for your institution, such as emergency contact information.
  1. Edit Domain Security Policies.
    Configure security for these domains in the Student Core functional area:
    • Self-Service: Student Friends and Family
    • Set Up: Friends and Family Requirements
    • Student Data: Friends and Family
  2. Access the
    Configure Required Friends and Family for Student
     task to configure required fields:
    • Relationship Types
    • Contact Information
    You can use this task to configure required fields for students' emergency contacts.
    Security:
    Set Up: Friends and Family Requirements
     domain in the Student Core functional area.
  3. Access the
    Add Friends and Family
     task.
    Click
    Add
     on the
    Friends and Family
     report on the
    Personal
     profile group of the student profile.
    Security:
    Student Data: Friends and Family
     domain in the Student Core functional area.
  4. (Optional) Configure the
    Review My Friends and Family
     task on these business processes:
    • Continuing Student Registration Onboarding Event
    • Student Onboarding Event
    You can use the task on the business processes to ensure that student's provide emergency contact information.
  5. (Optional) Enable a student's friends and family contact to manage the student's account.
  6. From the
    By Functional Area
     prompt, select
    Student Core
    . You can use the task on the business processes to ensure that student's provide emergency contact information. You can configure optional fields for these tasks:
    • Add Friends and Family
    • Add My Friends and Family
    • Edit Friends and Family
    • View Friends and Family Details
Students can update and view their
Friends and Family
 report on the
Personal
 profile group of their student profile.
