Example: Create a Lookup Table for Enterprise Award Rates Per Unit

This example illustrates how to create an advanced lookup table to store the enterprise awards per unit.
Alma Mater University awards the Enterprise Award to students who are registered for 13 or more units. The award amount varies depending on several factors, including the number of units registered.
You're preparing to create a step-based calculation for the enterprise award amounts. You want to create a lookup table with these per-unit rates for every unit above 12:
Financial Aid Award Year
Between 13-15 Units
Between 16-18 Units
More than 18 Units
2019-2020 Award Year
780
730
700
2020-2021 Award Year
795

  • Set Up: Calculations - Generic
    domain in the Core Payroll functional area.
  • Access Calculation (Segmented)
    domain in the functional areas for Core Payroll, Implementation, Payroll Interface, and Time Off and Leave.
  • Set Up: Time Off (Calculations - Generic)
    domain in the Time Off and Leave functional area.
  1. Access the
    Create Lookup Table
    task.
  2. Select
    Advanced Lookup Table - Numeric Calculation Search Criteria
    .
  3. Enter these values:
    Option Description
    Name
    Enterprise Award Rate Per Unit
    Category
    Financial Aid
    Report Field Search Criteria
    Units in Academic Period (ALL) Load Status Calculation
    Effective Date
    Enter January 1, 2019.
  4. Remove the first row from the
    Values
    grid, and click
    OK
    .
  5. From the related actions menu of the lookup table, select
    Lookup Table
    Column Labels
    .
  6. Enter these values:
    Display on Page
    Display Name
    Selected
    Enterprise Award Rate
  7. Click
    Done
    .
  8. Access the
    Edit Lookup Table
    task for your lookup table.
    Enter these values in the
    Values
    grid:
    Search Value
    Enterprise Award Rate
    13
    780
    16
    730
    18
    700
  9. Click
    OK
    .
  10. From the related actions menu on the effective date, select
    Effective Date
    Copy
    .
  11. In the
    New Effective Date
    field enter January 1, 2020.
  12. Click
    OK
    .
  13. In the
    Values
    grid for the new effective date, enter these values:

  14. Click

Create another lookup table for the award percentage based on GPA.
