Concept: General Educational Interests

You can associate general interests with a student prospect's recruitment record during the recruiting process. Define values that are the same, or similar, to those you receive from third parties, such as search services or test score services. This ensures that when you load prospect data from external sources, Workday retains the general educational interest values.

Educational interests are less specific than programs of study and can represent:

A broad academic discipline, such as Science.
A long-term goal, such as Teaching or PhD.
Other academic subjects or areas of interest.

Capturing general educational interests can help you understand:

Students’ interests, especially if they aren't familiar with all the programs of study your institution offers.
Overall interest in programs of study you might offer in the future.
Students’ long-term career goals so you can advise them appropriately.
