Concept: Find Students for Return of Title IV

Concept: Find Students for Return of Title IV

The
Find Students for Return of Title IV
report helps you determine which withdrawn students require a Return of Title IV (R2T4) worksheet and which students you can resolve without the need to create one.
Students appear on this report under these criteria:
  • The student’s primary program of study in the reporting record is eligible for Title IV aid. See Setup Considerations: Financial Aid Rules for Programs of Study.
  • The student has a Title IV-eligible award or COD-accepted loan.
  • A student’s R2T4 worksheet doesn’t already exist for the selected academic period.
  • The student had course registrations counting toward load status when the academic period started, but not on the day you run the report.
  • The student doesn’t have any load status overrides.
Students who've officially withdrawn appear on the report only when you select the
Include Official Withdrawal
check box on the
Find Students for Return of Title IV
prompt before generating the report. If a student doesn't appear on the report as expected, view the report after the next nightly orchestration.

Withdrawal Exceptions

Students who have withdrawn from your institution are required to undergo the R2T4 evaluation process. Per Federal Student Aid policy, a student can't have a withdrawn status if they successfully complete any of these criteria:
  • All graduation program requirements for their program before completing the days in the academic period that they were scheduled to complete.
  • 1 module that includes 49 percent or more of the number of days in the academic period, excluding scheduled breaks. The report calculates the number of days by:
    • Adding all days between the start and end dates of the regular term.
    • Subtracting any schedule breaks of 5 days or more.
    • Subtracting all days between modules.
  • A combination of modules that, when combined, contain 49 percent or more of the number of days in the payment period.
  • Coursework that's equal to or greater than the coursework required for the institution’s definition of a half-time student (must meet regulatory minimums as applicable).
If a student meets at least 1 of these criteria, click
Resolve
to permanently remove them from the report.
Students that you resolved in error won’t reappear on the report. If you mistakenly clicked

, follow these steps to reevaluate students for R2T4:
  1. On the Financial Aid profile group of the student’s profile, select the
    Attendance Plan
    report.
  2. From the related actions menu for the desired academic period, select
    Financial Aid Period Record
    Edit Courses for Load Status
    .
  3. Without making any edits, click

  4. After the next nightly orchestration runs, access the
Find Students for Return of Title IV
    report.
