Steps: Create Academic Unit Security Segment for Student Self-Service
You can create a segmented security group for providing access to students on the same tasks and business processes across institutions in a multi-institutional Workday tenant.
- Access theCreate Academic Unit Security Segmenttask.
- ForName, enter the name of the new security segment. Example:Student Security Segment for LOA.
- ForInstitutions, select all the institutions that will have access to this security segment.
Security:Set Up: Academic Unit Security Segmentdomain in the Academic Foundation functional area. - Access theCreate Security Grouptask.
- ForType of Tenanted Security Group, selectSegment-Based Security Group.
- ForName, enter a descriptive name for the segmented security group. Example:Student Leave of Absence.
Security:Security Configurationdomain in the System functional area. - On theEdit Segment-Based Security Grouptask:
- ForSecurity Groups, select the security groupStudent as Self.
- ForAccess to Segments, select the academic unit security group you created.
You can configure the new security group for Student Self-service on the security policy for these business processes:
- Add Program of Study Event
- Apply for Program Completion
- Change Program of Study Event
- Declare Program of Study Event
- Remove Program of Study Event
- Student Institutional Withdrawal Event
- Student Leave of Absence Event
- Student Locations Change Event
Students across the configured institutions can initiate tasks or action steps on the business processes you've configured for the academic unit security group.
