Designate or Remove Institutional Designation from Academic Unit

Configure the
Set Up: Institution Designation
 domain and security policy in the Academic Foundation functional area.
You designate an academic unit as an institution independently from the creation of an academic unit. You can designate an academic unit in your Workday tenant when you enable the Academic Foundation functional area.
You can only access the
Edit Institution Designation of Academic Unit
 task as a related action from an academic unit if:
  • You've already designated the academic unit as an institution.
  • Academic units don't have a superior or subordinate academic unit designated as institution.
You can also remove the institutional designation of an academic unit from the same task. Workday enables you to remove the institutional designation only if there aren't any configurations associated to the academic unit.
  1. Access the
    Edit Institution Designation of Academic Unit
     task.
    Select
    Edit Institution Designation
     from the academic unit related actions menu.
  2. Select or clear the
    Institution
     option.
  3. Click
    View Blocking Data
     if you receive an error message when removing the institutional designation for an academic unit.
    On the
    View Configuration Instances for Institution
     report, you can then view configurations associated to the institution.
