Example: Multi-Bin Par Locations
Your hospital has implemented a multi-bin kanban system for their par locations. As a result,
multiple bins are behind or beside each other to stock the same item to par level.
When a bin is empty, you move the full bin behind it forward. When you’re counting
the location, you mark the bin that requires restocking, triggering a replenishment
of the empty bin. In this example, you need to configure the par count business
process and your par location to recognize the multiple bins.
- Configure theInventory Par Count Eventbusiness process and security groups.
- Configure theProcess: Par Inventorydomain in the Inventory functional area.
- Access theMaintain Par Locationtask.
- On the desired item line, select theKanbancheck box.

business process. Review and approve the inventory par count for the par location to produce the replenishment
business document. Once restock arrives at the par location, the bin is refilled to
its par level and placed back in its normal location.
