Concept: Replenish Consigned Items
Context
Access the
Create Consignment Usage Requisitions
task to replenish consigned items that were used. This task factors in usage transactions based on your selection criteria such as site, item, and date. It can be run manually or scheduled. As a result, a bill and replace requisition will be created; this is the only way to create a bill and replace requisition. Create Consignment Usage Requisitions Logic
When you define the
Consigned Maximum Quantity
or Consigned Reorder Point Quantity
and access the Create Consignment Usage Requisitions
task, we calculate the on-hand quantity to determine the quantities that need to be ordered and paid for. On-hand quantity includes:
- On-hand inventory site balance
- On-order balance from consigned no charge requisition and purchase orders, and bill and replace requisitions and purchase orders
Consigned Reorder Point Quantity
or Consigned Maximum Quantity
fields, we won’t factor in the on-hand quantity; we factor in usage transactions. For the
Create Consignment Usage Requisitions
task, we use First-In, First-Out (FIFO) logic to determine which usage transactions to include in the replenishment.
- Transactions are evaluated starting with the earliest by date/time.
- When the quantity to order matches the quantity to pay for, all transactions are included.
- When the quantity to order is greater than the quantity to pay for, all transactions are included.
- When the quantity to order is less than the quantity to pay for, transactions will be included based on the FIFO logic and might be replenished partially.
We send
Notifications
that display the results of the run when transactions are partially replenished in the created bill and replace requisitions. Inventory Site Options
When you define the
Consigned Maximum Quantity
on the Inventory Site Options
of a consigned inventory site, the replenishment calculation of the Create Consignment Usage Requisitions
task is based on:
- Usage transactions
- On-hand quantity
- The specified maximum quantity
When you define the
Consigned Reorder Point Quantity
on the Inventory Site Options
of a consigned inventory site, the replenishment triggers when on-hand quantity is below the specified minimum. When you select the
Consolidate Transactions
check box at the Inventory Site Options
of a consigned inventory site and access the Create Consignment Usage Requisition
task, we consolidate multiple usage transactions into 1 line on the created bill and replace requisition when the transactions share any of the same:
- Inventory site
- Item
- Supplier
- Unit of Measure
- Usage transaction type (Quick Issue, Stock Request/ Shipment, Inventory Adjustment, Transfer)
- Worktag
