Quick Issue Inventory Items
- Configure theQuick Issuebusiness process and security policy in the Inventory functional area.
- Stock inventory items in a valid stocking location.
You can issue goods directly to users without a stock request. You can only issue inventory that has an available balance in that stocking location.
- Access theQuick Inventory Issuetask.
- As you complete the task, consider:
Option Description RequesterThe worker who submits the return order. You can require or hide this prompt by configuring it on theConfigure Optional Fieldstask.Requesting CompanyUse this field to issue inventory to a company other than your inventory company.When you select a requester with a valid intercompany profile, Workday defaults the corresponding company in the Requesting Company prompt.Select the newAllow Intercompany Issuecheck box on theEdit Inventory Accounting Optionstask to use the prompt.Stocking LocationThe location in the inventory site where you stock the inventory.LotThe lot identifier for the item. Displays if an item is under lot control.Issue QuantityEnter the quantity to issue. TheIssuequantity can't exceed theAvailablequantity displayed.Serial NumberClickAddto input the serial numbers. The number of fields that display matches the quantity of issued items.Unit PriceDisplays the current average cost of the item plus any applicable markup percentage. You can apply markup percentages to items using theMaintain Inventory Markupstask.WorktagsYou can add any primary or additional worktags, such as cost center, to your inventory issue transactions.Use worktags as keywords to more easily classify and find transactions. Configure the allowed worktag types on theMaintain Worktag Usagetask. When you select a worktag type that has related worktags, Workday automatically populates transactions with the related worktag values.
When you issue goods to a worker:
- Workday initiates theQuick Issuebusiness process.
- For items with an accounting treatment ofInventory, Workday creates an accounting entry that:
- Debits the account used by theSpendposting rule with an accounting treatment ofExpense.
- Credits the account used by theSpendposting rule with an accounting treatment ofInventory.
- For items with a markup percentage and an accounting treatment of Inventory, Workday creates an accounting entry that:
- Debits the account used by theSpendposting rule.
- Credits the account used by theInventory Markupposting rule.
When you issue goods between companies, Workday creates an accounting entry that:
- Credits theSpendposting rule for the inventory site that generates the quick issue transaction.
- Debits theExpenseposting rules for the requesting company.
Any return put aways or disposals generate intercompany accounting journals, for intercompany issue transactions.
You can:
- View your transactions in theFind Inventory Transactionreport.
- View inventory balances in theFind Inventory Balancereport.
