Steps: Create Journeys with AI

Security:
Journey Generation
sub-domain in the Journeys functional area.
You can use generative AI to create a draft journey based on a name, category, business intention, and selected Workday resources. This feature reduces configuration time in the journey editor.
  1. Access the
    Journeys Workspace
     report.
  2. Select and click
    Create Journey
     from the blank journey option.
  3. Enter a name in the
    Journey Name
     field.
  4. Specify a category.
    1. From the
      Journey Category
      prompt, select an existing category.
    2. Alternatively, click
      Create New
       to establish a new category. Enter a category name, select a category type, configure manager access, and click
      Create
      to save your changes.
  5. Click
    Create with AI
    .
  6. Enter an
    Intention
     to describe the purpose, target audience, and intended outcome of the journey. Ex: Design a journey to provide a comprehensive experience for employees transitioning into their first management role.
  7. (Optional) Select a
    Suggested Intention
     from the options provided.
  8. (Optional) Add relevant sources.
    1. Search for and select existing knowledge base articles, tasks, links, videos, or learning content to guide the layout generation.
    2. Use the filter at the top of the prompt to narrow your search by source type.
  9. Click
    Generate Preview
    .
    Layout generation takes approximately 40 seconds. You can navigate away from the page. The status card on the
    Journeys Workspace
     report updates from
    Generating
     to
    Preview Ready
     when the process finishes.
  10. Review the generated layout.
    1. Verify the step groups and individual steps.
    2. View
      Added Sources
       and review the
      Suggested Resources
      .
    3. Clear the check box next to any step or step group you want to exclude.
  11. (Optional) Provide feedback on the journey generation.
  12. Convert the layout of a journey.
    1. Click
      Continue
      . Workday opens the journey editor in Draft status.
    2. Click
      Check for Errors
       to identify items that require manual configuration, such as empty URLs, unattached suggested resources, or unselected learning content.
    3. Complete the field configurations and distribute the journey using your standard distribution method.
Workday creates the journey in
Draft
 status. You can view, modify, and distribute the draft from the Journeys Workspace report.
