Steps: Set Up External Links in Global Navigation Categories
- Select theEnable Global Navigation Sidebarcheckbox on theEdit Tenant Setup - Systemtask.
- Security:Global Navigation Configurationdomain in the System functional area.
You can centrally manage and set up external links for global navigation categories, including adding, deleting, reordering, and editing them. We display external links at the end of the main menu under the designated categories on both the browser-based site and on the Workday mobile app.
When configuring external links:
- End users can’t reorder external links.
- External links can’t appear between Workday-owned menu items.
- Access theGlobal Navigation Configurationreport.
- In theExternal Linkssection, clickConfigure.
- Add a row for each link you want to configure and complete the task:OptionDescriptionOrderDisplays the external links in the order they appear in the list. To change the sequence, move a row up or down.TitleEnter the display name that appears to end users in the global navigation sidebar.QuicklinkSelect a preconfigured Quicklink or enter an external URL for the resource. Ensure the external URL begins with https:// or http://.Category Override(Optional) Select a category to display the external link in a specific category instead of its default location. You can use this option to group related external resources together for easier access.Rule(Optional) Select the check box to make the external link visible to end users. When cleared, the link remains in the configuration but isn’t displayed in the sidebar.
