Steps: Set Up Workteams
You can set up the Workteam organization type to manage worker-to-worker relationships and groups that are outside of the traditional supervisory structure. Examples:
- Cross-functional teams.
- Affinity groups.
- Employee-formed teams.
- Task forces.
- Edit Domain Security Policies.
- Access theMaintain Organization Subtypestask.Create organization subtypes that you want to use with workteams. Example:
- Scrum team.
- Event team.
Security:Set Up: Organizationdomain in the Organizations and Roles functional area. - Access theCreate Workteamtask to set up a Workteam and add members.Security:Manage: Workteamdomain in the Organizations and Roles functional area.
- (Optional) Access theView Workteamtask to delete members and manage membership status.When you delete Workteam members, you delete the member's history on the Workteam permanently. To preserve member history but update participation status, change the membership status from its current state to active, inactive, or passive.Security:Manage: Workteamdomain in the Organizations and Roles functional area.
- (Optional) Access the related action available from theHistorycolumn of the Workteam grid.Correct membership status and change effective dates.Security:Manage: Workteam Membership Historydomain in the Organizations and Roles functional area.
Workers who have security permissions to Workteams enabled can update Workteams. When you grant view and modify access on the
Self-Service: Workteam
domain, users can manage their own memberships on Workteams, but they can only add other members if they have access on the Manage: Workteam
domain.
