Concept: Edit Mode

Edit Mode is a simplified schedule view that managers and schedulers can use to quickly make multiple shift changes and submit them all at once by clicking the
Save
button. This button displays the total number of changes made while in Edit Mode. You can also click
Exit Edit Mode
button to return to your original schedule by dismissing any edits you’ve made.
While in Edit Mode, Workday doesn't display:
  • The
    Hours Variance
    or
    Coverage
rows, even if you enable them.
  • Recommended workers or allow you to assign borrowed workers from other organizations.
  • Schedule or shift validations until you save or exit Edit Mode.
While in Edit Mode:
  • If you change the
    Group By
    or
    Sort By
filters, Workday clears all selected cells and areas.
  • On a published schedule, all keyboard shortcuts are available except Delete.
  • Any shift edits you make on a published schedule place the edited shifts in Draft status.
  • Workday displays a maximum of 300 shifts.
  • You can make up to 300 edits at once.
