Share Metrics Data Between Organizations

Security:
  • Set Up: Labor Optimization
     in the Labor Optimization functional area.
  • Set Up: Metric Source for Organization
     in the Labor Optimization functional area.
You can link a new scheduling organization (the target organization) to an existing, similar organization (the source organization) to leverage its historical data for forecasting. This provides a reliable forecast for new locations that lack historical data, ensuring they are staffed appropriately from their inception.
  1. Access the
    Setup Metric Source for Scheduling Organization
     task.
  2. In the
    Scheduling Organization
     prompt, select the new scheduling organization (target organization) that requires a forecast.
  3. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option
    Description
    Source Scheduling Organization
    Select the existing scheduling organization you want to designate as the source organization.
    Metric Source
    Specify which metrics (subset) will be sourced from the source organization.
    Start Date
    Specify the date on which the metric sharing configuration between the source scheduling organization and the target scheduling organization becomes active.
    End Date
    Specify the date on which the metric sharing should stop.
    Override Source Metric Edits
    By default, Workday doesn’t allow you to directly edit metric forecasts for a target organization. All changes must be made at the source organization level.
    However, when you select the
    Override Source Metric Edits
     check box, you can edit metrics independently for the target organization. These changes apply only to the target organization.
    When you don’t select this check box, the target organization inherits all metric edits from the source organization, and adjustments can only be made at the source.
    Use Source for Actuals
    Select this option to enable Workday to use the metrics actuals data from the source organization as the actuals data for the target organization. You can then:
    • Temporarily use the actuals data as a data foundation for the target organization. Use the metric source actuals data for earned hours calculations and reporting.
    • View the metric source actuals for the target organization on the forecast graph on the
      Forecast
       tab of the
      Schedule Workers
      report.
  4. Click

You can access these reports to view metrics actuals:
  • Raw Labor Optimization Metric Actuals
    : Report on all metric data you’ve imported.
  • Operational Labor Optimization Metric Actuals
    : Report on the actuals data that is being used by various processes and will be displayed on the Forecast UI. This report includes source organizations if configured as actuals.
