Reference: Time Tracking Background Jobs and Processes

You can monitor the background jobs and processes that Workday Time Tracking is running in your tenant.

Mass Auto-fill from Schedule
Populates time blocks for multiple workers at once based on their work schedules. Runs according to the
Run Frequency
 setting that you select.

Runs when you use the

Runs when you use the

Runs when you manually run time calculations using the
Run Time Calculations for a Date Range
 report.

Runs every 15 minutes to collect and process queued Process Time Clock Events jobs.

Some Time Tracking jobs run automatically when you import or submit reported time. Example: When you use the
Import Reported Time Blocks
 web service. These jobs run after the integration or web service completes. A completed integration event doesn't guarantee that all time blocks were processed successfully. If processing fails, users with implementer access can view errors in the
Background Job Monitor
 report.

Monitor Unprocessed Time Blocks Without Job Access

When you can't access the processing job, you can use these methods to monitor unprocessed time blocks:
  • Create a custom report based on the
    Time Block Audit
     report and add the filter
    Time Block Status is empty
    . Run the report to find imported blocks that are unprocessed. You can run the report by organization after each import batch if needed. You can also schedule the custom report for post-import validation.
  • To view details of failed jobs such as error messages or step failures, a user with implementer access can review the
    Background Job Monitor
     report. For the import date range, filter the
    Job Definition
     column for
    Process Time Block from Reported Time Batch Event
    .
