Enter Time for a Worker Using Spreadsheet Time Entry
You can use Spreadsheet Time Entry to import and submit time blocks for a worker.

- As you complete the task, consider:OptionDescriptionFile Format
- The file format must be Excel or CSV, and can't exceed 1000 rows.
- The file should be tabular, with each row representing a time block.
- There must be column headers for Time Type, Date, and Time Quantity.
- The Frontline Agent can't analyze a pivot table.
Time Types- The time type must be hours only.
- You can match this time type data: date, time, quantity, comments.
- We don't support the in/out time type.
Worktags- The UI can display default worktags, primary position, the do-not-bill check box, and project role that you configured for the time type or project.
- The agent can't match worktags, position, the do-not-bill check box and project role for the uploaded file.
- Review time block drafts on the timesheet once the agent completes its analysis of the spreadsheet.Enter or edit time block details if needed.
- Access theEnter Time by Type (New!)task to submit the time blocks that Workday converted from time block drafts.
You can import time blocks from an uploaded file.
Access the
Review Uploaded Timesheets
task to check the status of an uploaded file to check for any time block drafts or files that haven't been imported. Imported time block drafts do not display in the task. You can also review errors in the Review Uploaded Timesheets
task.
