Steps: Manage Evidence of Insurability
- Set up enrollment event rules.To define rules for handling changes in insurance coverage, use theLevel of Change - Currently Covered,Levels of Change - Currently Waiving, andLevels of Change - Newly Eligibletabs.
- Complete and finalize open enrollment or a benefit event.
Track and record workers' evidence of insurability (EOI) status.
- Access theManage Evidence of Insurability Statustask.
- Search for workers with EOI activity.
- Select the workers whose EOI status you want to review or update.
- Select theSelect Allcheck box, if you want to review or update all the workers listed.
- Select theSelectcheck box next to each worker's name to review or update individual workers.
- Select the action you want to take on the selected workers:
Option Description Approve for selectedChange the workers EOI status toApproved.Deny for selectedChange the workers EOI status toDenied.Email for selectedSend an email to the workers regarding their EOI status.You can also select theView Detailslink next to each worker.
Workday displays a confirmation page, where you can create the email message. Email notifications are sent to the worker's primary work email address. If workers don't have a work email address, they won't receive EOI status notifications.
Depending on the selected action, Workday updates the insurance coverage to the:
- Full amount elected as defined in theEOI Takes Effect On Datefield for the benefit group, when the action isApproved.
- Waived, when the action isDeniedand theGuaranteed Issue Amountis zero.
- Guaranteed Issue Amount, when the action is Denied and theGuaranteed Issue Amountis greater than zero.
- Prior coverage amount, when the worker has prior coverage and that coverage amount is greater than the guaranteed issue amount.
To update an EOI status from approved to denied or denied to approved, you must correct the underlying benefit event. From the worker's profile, select the relevant benefit event. From the related actions menu of the event, select
Correct Benefits
. Waive the plan and save your changes. Review the benefit event again and re-elect the same benefit plan.
