Concept: Entity Activity Codes

Workday helps you classify your entities by creating, maintaining, and assigning entity activity codes. You can use these classifications in your business entity reports. Before you assign entity activity codes to your entities, you must first create entity activity code types for countries and entities, and then add entity activity codes to these code types.
You can create and maintain entity activity code types and codes on these tasks:
  • Maintain Entity Activity Code Types
  • Maintain Entity Activity Codes
Workday also enables you to create, edit, or return entity activity codes and code types using these web services:
  • Get Entity Activity Code Types
  • Get Entity Activity Codes
  • Put Entity Activity Code
  • Put Entity Activity Code Type

Entities

Once you've created the entity activity codes, you can assign them to companies, customers, or suppliers. You can only add the codes to the entities that you've selected for code type usage. Example: You select
Customer
 on the
Usage
 prompt when you add a code type on the
Maintain Entity Activity Code Types
 task, and then add entity activity codes to this code type. You can assign these codes to a customer but you can't assign them to companies or suppliers.
You can assign entity activity codes to companies, customers, and suppliers using these web services:
  • Get Company Tax Details
  • Get Customer Tax Information
  • Get Supplier Tax Information
  • Put Company Tax Details
  • Put Customer Tax Information
  • Put Supplier Tax Information

Reporting

You can access these reports:
  • View Entity Activity Code Types
    , to view all available entity activity code types.
  • View Entity Activity Codes
    , to view available entity activity codes by the code type that you select.
To view entity activity code details, you can create an advanced custom report. You can use the:
  • Company
    ,
    Customer
    , and
    Supplier
     business objects to add the
    Assigned Entity Activity Code
     report field to custom reports.
  • Entity Activity Code
     business object to drill down on the entity activity code details with these report fields:
    • Entity Activity Code
    • Entity Activity Code Country
    • Entity Activity Code Description
    • Entity Activity Code Type
    • Inactive Entity Activity Code
