Why are the EDD connections to financial partners activated on 2026-10-01?: EDD is available in your Production tenants as of 2026-09-19, but workers won’t see options for connecting to financial partners in their payment elections until 2026-10-01. This delayed activation date gives you the opportunity to disable whichever financial partners you want before workers can access them.
What happens if a worker creates an account through EDD and has a split distribution?: Workday updates the worker’s financial account, but Workday doesn’t automatically update the worker’s payment elections.

Example: If a worker has preexisting payment elections that have a split distribution of 50% to Account 1 and 50% to Account 2, EDD adds the account into Workday but doesn’t update the worker’s payment election.

The worker can then subsequently update their payment elections to include a split distribution to the newly created account. Example: 50% to Account 1, 40% to Account 2, and 10% to New Account.
How can a worker add an external financial partner to their split distribution?: The worker must update their payment election manually to update their split distributions.

What if a worker creates an account through EDD and has opted to receive checks for payment?: Workday doesn’t automatically update the worker’s payment elections. The worker can choose to update their payment elections and include a split distribution to the newly created account through direct deposit.
What if a worker already has an account with an external financial partner?: When the worker connects to the partner’s site, they will have the option to login and connect their existing account. Workday automatically populates the information for the worker’s payment election. The worker can also enter account information for an existing account manually.
Can partner logos or subtitles be removed or hidden?: No, the logos or subtitles of external financial partners that are enabled can’t be removed or hidden in Workday. You can disable an EDD partner, which removes the partner as an option for your workers to select when they update their payment elections.

Is the EDD available on the mobile app?: Yes, workers can select external financial partners through EDD on the app.
Is EDD available to agents?: No, agents can’t select external financial partners through EDD.
Are web services impacted?: No, EDD doesn’t impact the web services in your tenants.

Are existing payment election validations changed?: No, EDD doesn’t change existing payment election validations.
Is there any impact on prenoting?: EDD doesn’t impact prenoting. You can configure prenotes based on your business rules.
Can a worker connect other payment election rule types to a partner account?: Yes. If a worker has a payment election rule tied to a regular run category, they can connect to other rule types that are applicable for their role:
Payroll interface payments
Expense reimbursement payments
Supplier Invoice payments
Student refunds
Student payments

If a worker doesn’t have access to the payment election rule tied to a regular run category, they can’t connect the other rule types independently to partner accounts.

Is Workday passing worker data to the external financial partners?: No, Workday only provides a connection to the partner’s web site. There is no worker data passed to the partner during this process.
Can a payroll administrator enter the EDD flow on behalf of a worker?: No, only the worker themselves can access the EDD selection page and connect to a financial partner.
