Create Cube Accounts

Create Cube Accounts

You create cube accounts within the cube sheet. Each account in the cube sheet uses the sheet code as part of the account code. You can reference these codes in formulas throughout the model.
You can use the account settings to link a cube standard account to another modeled account or a cube account from another cube sheet.
You can also import your account structure, or use the import to make bulk changes.
  1. From the sheet summary, select
    Cube Accounts
    .
  2. From the toolbar, select an account button. As you complete this step, consider:
    選項 說明
    Create new cube standard account
    • Use to enter numbers or formulas into the account from the sheet.
    • Settings provide flexibility, including the ability to link to other accounts.
    • Regular cube sheets must contain at least 1 standard cube account.
    Create new cube calculated account
    • Use when you want the data gathered in the sheet to drive the data of the account.
    • The account is read-only because the formula that you enter in the account settings calculates the data.
    • The formulas of cube calculated accounts can reference any accounts in the model.
    • For regular cube sheets, calculated accounts require data in at least 1 cube standard account on the same sheet. Otherwise the formulas evaluate to zero. Merged cube sheets, on other hand, use the data presence of the source sheets.
    • Merged cube sheets require at least 1 calculated account.
    Create new cube assumption account
    • Assumptions drive data at the global level.
    • Use the account settings to make the assumption account visible either at all levels or just the top level.
    • Assumption accounts aren’t available for merged cube sheets.
    Create new cube metric account
    • You can't enter numbers or formulas into these accounts from the sheet.
    • Rollups first sum the components of the formula, and then calculate the formula.
    Include GL or custom account
    • Use to enter data into a general ledger or custom account from the cube sheet.
    • In the general ledger or custom account settings, you must select
      Cube
      for
      Data Entry Type
      .
    • These accounts display as standard accounts in the cube account list.
  3. In the account settings, enter a unique code and name for the account and complete the remaining settings.
The settings are different for each type of account.
New accounts display automatically on the cube sheet.
