Enable Recalculate on Demand

permission.Recalculate On Demand is a sheet setting available for modeled and cube sheets that can improve the performance of large sheets and the entire model. Recalculate On Demand is similar to Manual Calculation in Excel.
When you enable this option for sheets, you can update the sheet data without triggering the performance-heavy recalculations. Other data doesn't automatically update until you click the Recalculate Formulas button from the sheet toolbar. Links also don't populate with updated data and might display blanks until you click the button.
- You must be creating a new modeled or cube sheet or editing a modeled cube sheet to enable this feature.
- For:
- Cube sheets, click Dimensions, Attributes and Levels.
- For modeled sheets, click Columns and Levels.
- From the toolbar, click Sheet Properties.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Enable the check box for Recalculate on Demand.
- Click OK.
- Save the sheet.
The Recalculate Formulas button now displays on the toolbar of the sheet when you open sheets from the Sheets menu. Links and formulas and some rollups don't calculate with new data until you click the button after saving. Other data in the model that's dependent on the data in the sheet data also doesn't recalculate until you click the button.
