Manage Element Hierarchies in Reports

Security:
  • Access Reports
     permission.
  • Create Personal Reports
     permission.
  • Create Shared Reports
     permission.
When you add report elements, by default they display in the custom or original state of expansion. You can change the default expansion state to display parents elements either as:
  • Expanded with its hierarchy of elements.
  • Collapsed with only the hierarchy total.
  1. Select
    Reports
     from the main menu.
  2. Click
    Add New
    Matrix
    .
  3. From the
    Elements
    tab, add an element to the report rows or columns.
  4. In the report builder, right-click the element and select
    Manage Hierarchy
    .
  5. Select how you want to display the hierarchy. Click
    Apply
    .
