FAQ: Can I update time parameters automatically?

You can connect your time parameters so that they can automatically update each other. You can connect
 all time element parameters except Timespan.
Example: A report includes 3 segments each with its own period as a parameter: Current Month, YTD Current Year, and Prior Year. You connect these time parameters so that when you change 1 parameter, the other 2 segments automatically update.
To connect time parameters:
  1. From the report rows or columns, drag the first time element to the
    Parameters
     area.
  2. Drag the other 2 time elements to the
    Parameters
     area and drop them on top of the first time element.
  3. Right-click the time parameter and select
    Properties
    . In the parameter settings dialog, you can view:
    • All the time elements as connections.
    • Several dynamic options such as
      Current Month
       and
      Last Actuals Month
       at the top of the
      Initial choice
       prompt.
