Example: Add or Rename Dimension Values on Cube or Modeled Sheets

This scenario illustrates how to add or rename dimension values on the:
  • Product Revenue cube sheet
  • Marketing modeled sheet
Your administrator has set up the Product Revenue cube sheet or the Marketing modeled sheet to enable changing dimensions. Both sheets contain the Product custom dimension. You want to change the Product dimension to:
  • Add Jackets as a dimension value.
  • Rename the Tank Tops dimension value to Sleeveless.
Security:
Edit Dimension on Sheet
 permission.
  1. Select
    Sheets
     from the main menu.
  2. Select the
    Product Revenue
     cube sheet or the
    Marketing
     modeled sheet.
  3. Display the existing values for the Product dimension:
    • For modeled sheets, hover any cell in the
      Product
       column and click the down arrow.
    • For cube sheets, click the
      Product
       filter.
  4. (Optional) For cube sheets, if Product is a row or a column, change the sheet view:
    1. From the toolbar, click
      Change Dimensions
      .
    2. Replace
      Product
       with another option in
      Columns
       or
      Rows
       so it becomes available as a filter.
    3. Select the values for the Product filter and click
      OK
      .
  5. Select
    Edit Dimension
     from the bottom of the list.
    The Edit Product window displays.
  6. (Optional) To change a value, in the dimension details section, change the
    Name
     field and save.
  7. (Optional) To add a value, click
    Create new Dimension value
     from the toolbar.
  8. In the right panel, complete the required fields and save.
  9. Click
    OK
    .
