Set Up Notifications Integration with Apps

  • Administrators must:
    • Verify that
      Visual Preferences
      User Interface
      Administration Landing
      option is checked. If this option is cleared, then the
      Notification Preferences
       link doesn't display under
      Administration
      System
      .
    • Have the
      Admin Access
       permission assigned.
  • End users require:
    • Access to their own Microsoft Teams (Teams) or Slack account
    • The ability to add apps within their Microsoft or Slack environments.
    • Access to the collaboration app such as Teams or Slack.
    and
Administrators can integrate Adaptive Planning instances with collaboration apps such as Slack or Teams. This enables users to access and manage their notifications in their desired app. After a successful integration, a notification informing that the Adaptive Planning instance was integrated with the collaboration app display in these areas:
  • Notifications Setup page
  • Manage Notifications page
  • In the specific collaboration app
The Notifications integration with both Slack and Teams support:
  • Adaptive Planning standalone instances.
  • Adaptive Planning Multi-Instances. You must configure each instance individually for notifications.
  • Adaptive Planning instances that are connected to Workday tenants.
  1. Select
    Administration
    from the main menu.
  2. From the
    System
    menu, click the
    Notification Preferences
     link.
    The Slack or Teams app displays on the Notifications Setup page.
  3. Locate the Slack or Teams app tile and click
    Add
    .
    For only the first 10 Adaptive instances that are integrated with Slack, a Slack approval page displays.
  4. If you're integration with Slack, complete these steps:
    1. If a Slack approval page displays, click
      Allow
      .
    2. Sign in to Adaptive Planning to authenticate as the admin user requesting the integration.
  5. If you're integrating with Teams, complete these steps:
    1. Follow the prompts to sign in and grant admin consent to allow the application to access your tenant.
    2. Authenticate your Adaptive Planning administrator credentials to finalize the association.
To connect to Slack or Teams, end users must authenticate their individual credentials in notification settings. See Set Up App Connections for Notifications.
