Concept: Legacy Calendars and Custom Calendars

Legacy calendars are calendars created before Release 2017.2 that you haven't made any changes to since then besides extending time. The moment you change your time structure or locales besides extending time, your legacy calendar becomes a custom calendar. If your calendar and instance were created after 2017.2, your calendar is a custom calendar and uses the most up-to-date functionality.
To identify if your instance uses a legacy calendar, view the toolbar on the
Time
page in
Model Management
. If your toolbar has these icons, then you have a legacy calendar:
  • Extend backward 5 years
  • Extend forward 5 years
Depending on whether your instance uses a legacy calendar or custom calendar, these aspects of your instance differ:
  • The way you extend time on your calendar.
  • Whether you can make changes to your locales.
  • The way your sheets interpret some formulas.
  • The settings you can configure on cube sheets.
  • The parameters you have to select and the formats you have to use on your APIs to import or export data.
