Change Default Time Strata on Cube and Modeled Sheets with Data
- Complete any changes to your time structure.
- Security:
- Model includes sheets, accounts, dimensions, and formulaspermission.
- Timepermission.
- Configure Calendarpermission.
You can configure cube and modeled sheets to display a different time strata than the default
time strata. You can do this:
- When you create your sheets.
- After you create and populate your sheets with data. This option requires you to erase all standard data, cell notes, and audits.
Cube and modeled accounts inherit their time strata from the cube and modeled sheets that own
them. Modeled or cube sheets can't contain accounts with different time strata.
Cube-entered general ledger and custom accounts use the same time strata as the cube
sheet that they link to.
- Go toModeling.
- Select either:
- Level Assigned Sheets
- User Assigned Sheets
- SelectEditfor your cube or modeled sheet.
- If your sheet contains data, selectErase All Data.
- Depending on whether your sheet is a cube sheet or a modeled sheet, select:
- Dimensions, Attributes and Levelsfor cube sheets.
- Columns and Levelsfor modeled sheets.
- On the sheet properties menu, select theSettingstab.
- Select the time strata from theSelect the time stratum associated with this modeled sheetprompt.
Your company uses the standard configured calendar of Month > Quarter > Year. You want a
cube sheet containing weekly data, but you don't want to erase your monthly data.
- Export your existing calendar from withinTime.
- Update the exported spreadsheet and insert the required columns of Code, Label, and Short Name for Weeks to left of your Month columns.
- Import your edited spreadsheet using theUpdateoption withinTime. By using theUpdateoption, you don't erase your monthly data and your default time strata remains Month.
- Create a new cube sheet and selectWeekfor its time strata on theSettingstab of itsSheet Properties.
