Steps: Set Up Custom Breakback Methods
When you enter data on rollup cells on your sheets, you can use a breakback method to automatically distribute that value to the contributing cells according to that weighting. Depending on how you configure your sheets, we automatically provide these breakback methods:
- Proportionally
- Proportionally using prior year's values
- Evenly
- Weighted 4-4-5
- Weighted 4-5-4
- Weighted 5-4-4
- Custom breakback methods that you create.
- SelectAdministrationfrom the main menu.Security:Admin Accesspermission.
- SelectGeneral Setup.Security:General Setuppermission.
- From theAuto-breakbackprompt, selectNone.
- Select from the main menu.Security:Model Management Accesspermission.
- In theAccountssection, selectAssumptions.Security:Assumptionspermission.
- Select theCreate new accounticon on the toolbar.
- As you create your new assumptions account to use for your custom breakback, consider:
Option Description NameWe display this account name to your planners when they select which breakback method to use on their sheet.Use in BreakbackSelect this check box. - SelectSave.
- Select from the main menu.Security:Model Management Accesspermission.
- Depending on how you assign access to the standard sheet where you want to set the weighting for your custom breakback method, select either:
- Level Assigned Sheets
- User Assigned Sheets
Security:Model includes: sheets, accounts, dimensions, and formulaspermission. - SelectEditnext to your standard sheet.
- SelectAccount Groups.
- (Optional) SelectNew Groupto categorize your breakback assumptions account separately from other accounts on this sheet.
- Select an account group to add your breakback assumptions account to.
- Find your breakback assumptions account in theSelect Accountssection.
- SelectAdd to Group.
- SelectDone.
- If you added the breakback assumptions account to a user-assigned sheet, selectAccessibilityto ensure that you can access the sheet.
- Open the sheet where you added your breakback assumptions account.
- On the cells for your breakback assumptions account, enter weighting values.Security:Editable Sheet Accesspermission.
- SelectSave.
You can still change the weighting values after your planners already use this custom breakback method to enter data. When you change the weighting values after the method has already been used:
- We don't automatically apply the new weighting values to cells where your planners already used the custom breakback method.
- We apply the new weighting values the next time your planners use the custom breakback method.
