Report Metrics
provide insights into your user experience. They enable you to review the performance and usage patterns of your shared and snapshot reports. With usage metrics, you can track user adoption of particular reports. With the performance metrics, find reports that might benefit the most from optimization. We display all the shared reports and snapshots in your model on the
Report Metrics
page. You can review the metrics for a single day or for a time range.
We can only display metrics from the time that the
Planning Center
became available to your instance.
Report Metrics
update as users run the specific reports. It takes at least 2 days of activity for average load times to display.  We don't display the metrics for the current day or the prior day. We collect the metrics every day at midnight UTC.
When you have any usage for reports that have since been deleted, we display 1 row with the aggregated metrics for all the deleted reports.
You can:
  • Use the search to filter the reports.
  • Click
    Export
to download the filtered list. The export includes all pages.
  1. Select
    Modeling
    from the main menu.
  2. Click
    Planning Center
    .
  3. From the left panel, click
    Report metrics
    .
  4. From the toolbar, select a day or a 31-day time range within the previous 90 days.
You must select a day, or a range that ends, at least 2 days prior to today's date.
  5. As you review usage metrics, consider:
    Option Description
    Views
The total number of times the report has been viewed. If a report isn’t getting a lot of views, you might consider removing it.
    Distinct Views
The number of views by different users who viewed the report. This metric adds context to the
    Views
metric. Example: A report that gets 100 views, but only 5 distinct views means that the report has low adoption.
    Usage metrics help you to:
    • Identify high- and low-traffic reports.
    • Identify unused reports that you might consider deleting.
    • Focus optimization efforts on reports that are getting the most usage.
    • Track adoption of newly shared reports and snapshots.
  6. As you review performance metrics, consider:
    Option Description
    Average time to open
The average time it takes to load the report once users select it. Longer load times can indicate an inefficient report that can use some optimization.
    95th percent time to open
The longest it time it takes to open the report 95 percent of the time.
To improve reports with low performance, you can:
